> bottlenecks found: orders, ops, follow-up.

We build the backend
of your best day.

Ordering platforms, ops portals, and websites - engineered like software, not templated like brochures.

Six platforms shipped, 99.9 percent uptime, four of four launch checks complete, and a typical reply time under one hour.

/services

Four modules. One system.

01

Operational Platforms

Order flows, workflow tools, member portals - one system replacing five spreadsheets.

02

Web Platforms

Sites and storefronts built to convert browsers into customers, not just look good.

03

Systems Integration

Payments, messaging, APIs, admin tooling - wired together so nothing falls through.

04

Launch & Support

We stay on after go-live. Systems get refined as your business does.

$React 19$TypeScript$Tailwind$GSAP

A premium mineral water brand needed to sell online and run the back office from one place.

challenge.log

Manual order-taking on WhatsApp, no catalogue, no way to track a custom-label print run.

system.json

One codebase, two fronts: the public storefront and the staff portal read the same order and quote data - nothing retyped, nothing out of sync.

outcome.md

A full storefront - catalogue, cart, checkout, and a guided custom-label quote flow - plus a staff portal running orders, quotes, and reporting.

Our own product: South African businesses miss government tenders buried in noise.

challenge.log

Thousands of live tenders across provinces, no way to tell which ones fit a company's profile.

system.json

A FastAPI core ingests new tenders daily, scores each one against the company profile with Claude, and flags compliance documents before they expire.

outcome.md

A platform that scores every tender against your company with AI, tracks compliance document expiry, and manages the bid from discovery to submission.

A youth football academy needed one site to win two audiences: families booking trials, and businesses considering sponsorship.

challenge.log

No digital presence, and no way to move a sponsor conversation past a PDF proposal.

system.json

A fast public site backed by an admin portal that tracks every sponsor from first contact to signed deal, alongside member renewals and shop orders.

outcome.md

A fast marketing site plus an admin portal running the prospects pipeline, member renewals, and shop orders. VALO is proud to be the academy's technology partner.

straight answers before the first call

valo@systems: ~/questions
[01]How much does an online ordering system cost in South Africa?

Cost depends on the catalogue and checkout rules, user roles, operations workflows, integrations, data migration, and support required. We first identify the smallest complete release that removes a real bottleneck, then provide a written scope and planning range after focused discovery. A catalogue and checkout is a different build from a platform that also runs staff operations, reporting, and accounting integrations.

[02]How long does a custom software project take?

A focused first release typically takes 6 to 12 weeks. Complex integrations, data migration, or several operational workflows can extend that timeline. We deliver working software in reviewable increments so incorrect assumptions are found early and the first useful workflow reaches production sooner.

[03]How does VALO run a project?

We assess the current workflow and bottleneck, design the smallest complete system worth shipping, build it in reviewable increments, and prepare the critical path for production. After launch, we support the system and use evidence from real operation to decide what should improve next.

[04]What technology does VALO use?

Our common stack includes React and TypeScript for interfaces; Spring Boot, FastAPI, or Node for backend services; PostgreSQL for reliable data; and AWS for cloud infrastructure. The stack follows the operating need, security boundary, and support requirements rather than forcing every project into the same template.

[05]Does VALO support systems after launch?

Yes. Launch is the start of operating the system, not the end of the engagement. Support can include monitoring, fixes, operational assistance, security and dependency updates, and evidence-led improvements as the business and its users change.

[06]When is custom software better than off-the-shelf?

Use off-the-shelf software when your workflow is standard and a proven product already handles it cleanly. Custom software becomes worthwhile when the process differentiates the business, carries unusual pricing or compliance rules, or has become load-bearing work that generic tools cannot model without repeated manual work and disconnected plugins.

[07]How does VALO handle POPIA and business data?

We design around data minimisation, HTTPS, role-based access, audit needs, retention, backups, and the third parties that process information. Those controls are agreed against the real workflow and risk. Technical design supports POPIA responsibilities, but it does not replace the business’s legal assessment or professional legal advice.

[08]Does VALO work with businesses outside Gauteng?

Yes. VALO is based in Midrand and works with businesses across South Africa. Most delivery can run remotely with regular working reviews; we collaborate in person around Midrand, Johannesburg, and Pretoria when it materially helps discovery, rollout, or training.
